Heatable Sneakers

Aim

As a product developer in Project Materials, our group focused on creating heatable sneakers catered to individuals aged 16 to 40 who experience cold feet during winter.

The key features of the sneakers included:

  1. Heatable yarns integrated into the insole, powered by a rechargeable battery. This innovative technology aimed to keep the feet at a comfortable and consistent temperature.

  2. Jacquard knit on the top of the sneakers, combining plastic yarns for enhanced stability and recycled yarns to promote sustainability.

  3. The battery was conveniently placed within the sole, ensuring easy removal for recharging when depleted.

The ultimate goal was to offer our target audience a product that not only provided warmth and comfort but also embraced eco-friendly practices through the use of recycled materials.

Quality testing

The tested fabrics feature a jacquard knit structure, which is utilized on the top of the sneaker. Additionally, washed denim fabric has been employed for the sole inside the sneaker. The combination of these materials enhances the overall design and functionality of the heatable sneakers, providing both aesthetic appeal and comfort for the target audience.

Sketches

Samples were created and compared to find the best solution for the heatable sneakers.
